The project “Innovative Approaches regarding Rehabilitation and Assistive Robotics for Healthy Ageing - AgeWell” approaches an open problem in the healthcare of the aging population of Europe, committing to provide a viable solution of the acute therapy for stroke patients. The implementation team aims to deliver a solution that can be extended towards rehabilitation training in the later phases of the post-stroke therapy/rehabilitation as well as an exercise device for healthy aging of the elderly population.

The implementation team is headed by Dr. Giuseppe Carbone, which will come from the LARM laboratory (Laboratory of Robotics and Mechatronics) at the University of Cassino and South Latium, Italy, which joins the team from the Research Center for Industrial Robots Simulation and Testing (CESTER), within the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, Romania, in the ambitious quest of AgeWell.

The main objective of AgeWell

AgeWell intends to increase and exploit the complementary competences of medical robotics specialists and physicians with an additional scientific contribution of a foreign specialist in order to develop a pole of competence in rehabilitation within the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca, which will deliver European relevant medical solutions, ready for technological transfer, which answer the current challenges and threats in healthy ageing, lifestyle and public health.
